Picking up Return Units and Return Amounts
Sometimes you may receive sales files where the source provides sales and returns on the same line. Take for example the sales line below. The source had 5 sales for this release, and 1 return. You earned £10 in revenue, but also had £2 worth of returns.

On Curve, you can set up your Template to pick up the sales and returns separately by making use of the Return Units, Return Gross Amount and Return Net Amount fields.

When this file is ingested into Curve, any row that contains both sales and returns will be split into two separate sales lines.
The first sales line represents the sales and contains the Sales Units, Gross Amount, and Net Amount exactly as they appear in the source file (for example, 5 Units, 10 Gross Amount, and 10 Net Amount).
The second sales line represents the returns and uses the Return values from the source file. These are imported as negative values, resulting in -1 Units, -3 Gross Amount, and -2 Net Amount in this example.
Although the source file contains a single row with both sales and returns, these will always appear as two separate sales lines in Curve.

When picking up Return Units, please also make sure to pick up a Return Net Amount and Return Gross Amount (particularly when you have Contracts calculating royalties based on Gross Receipts) and vice versa. This functionality will not function when only picking up one but not the other.
