What Are Foreign IDs?

Across Curve, you will encounter a field labelled "Foreign ID." The Foreign ID field is used to store an ID number for a given asset for a different database other than Curve. For instance, if you have all of your Catalogue stored in a Microsoft Excel or Access database and you have assigned each track your own unique ID number or code, but you do not want to use that number as an identifier or alias for the Work in Curve, you can store that number in the Foreign ID field. You will find a Foreign ID field available on Companies, Payees, Contracts and Works.

Foreign ID fields are optional to complete. If you do not wish to assign a 3rd party or internal code as part of your metadata, you can leave the Foreign ID fields blank.
