Checklist: Setting up your Curve client for Deliveries

If you'd like to use Deliveries on the Curve platform to send your Works to societies, sub publishers and other partners, there are a few areas you need to fill out and things you need to set up. We will walk you through this step by step to make sure everything is ready to go!

1

Review your Delivery Settings

In the Delivery Settings Overview area, make sure you fill out your CWR Setup with your CWR Sending Party Name and ID in you are using CWR for your Deliveries. If you don't have one yet because you're new to sending CWRs, your society can set one up for you.

Also your Sending IPI No can be included here. Contrary to your society affiliations, where you may have different IPI numbers for each society, you would generally use just one Sending IPI No globally.

You can decide to Auto Approve Works that you add to the Curve platform. By Auto Approving Works, you will enable them to be picked up for Delivery (if the Work is valid). Unless you set Works to On Hold they will be delivered in any Delivery Schedules you have set up that include all Approved Works. You can read more about the Approval status on Works in this article: Using Work Statuses to set your Works up for Delivery ✪

Finally, you can set up User Notifications for your Delivery Schedules. The Users you link here will receive a notification 48hours before a Scheduled Delivery is sent, and a confirmation of the Delivery once it has been made.

2

Set up your Delivery Partners

All Deliveries made on Curve need a Delivery Partner. This partner is where you store information on who you're sending your registrations to, what will be included and in which format you're delivering your files. You can read everything about setting up these Delivery Partners here: Setting up Your Society as a Delivery Partner To Deliver CWR ✪

3

Review your Work Statuses

The status on a Work decide if a Work is ready to be sent or not. Works will only be included in a Delivery if the status is set to Approved. You can read about all the different statuses, what they mean and how you can review+manage them here: Using Work Statuses to set your Works up for Delivery ✪

4

Create and send your Delivery

There are two ways to send your Works for Delivery: you can create manual Deliveries, or set up Delivery Schedules to automate your Work registrations. Or, you can do both! To help you decide which approach is the right one for you, we have two articles on either option:

The abovementioned articles also explain how Works are selected to be included in your Deliveries based on the available filter options, so make sure to review them!

5

Import your Acknowledgement file

After you've sent your Delivery, you might receive an Acknowledgement file from your societies. In this file, the society will tell you if a Work has been Accepted or Rejected. You can import these files into Curve to update the delivery status of your Work at that partner. Read all about it here, in Step 4:

Sending Catalogue in a CWR Format ✪

Alternatively, Acknowledgement files can be provided to you via FTP or SFTP, so you can direct Curve to automatically retrieve these straight from your society's database without any human interference.

You can read more about it here: Automatically Importing Ack Files via an FTP Integration ✪

That's it - you're all done!
